Manchester City have the upper hand over Liverpool in the Premier League title due to their experience and the Reds current form.
That is the opinion of former Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta.
The Argentinean defender won the title at City in 2012 and 2014 but moved to West Ham two years ago.
He believes that the experience of winning England’s top flight will stand them in good stead coming into the business end of the season.
City are currently one point behind Liverpool after winning eight of their last nine while the Reds have only won two of their last five.
Zabaleta believes Liverpool’s assault towards a first title in nearly three decades creates an atmosphere that is hard to manage.
While the current City dressing room have won three of the last seven Premier League seasons.

He told BBC: "When the team is not playing well, it seems the fans are a little bit tense.
"That can make it difficult for the players to concentrate and play well.
"Some of the Liverpool fans have been waiting for that Premier League medal.
"There is a long way to go and it's important to have won the Premier League previously because City have been in this situation before.
"Both times we won the league, we were behind the leaders at this point. Some players in the dressing room now have experience of that and that is going to be key.”
City can leapfrog Liverpool - for 24 hours at least - should they avoid defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday lunchtime.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will look to respond in the Merseyside derby on Sunday afternoon.
Klopp, whilst enjoying success in Germany with Borussia Dortmund, has lost all three of the finals he has played as Liverpool coach.
The first of those was to City under Manuel Pellegrini in 2016.
Guardiola, meanwhile, is looking to land his eight league title in ten years of management and become the first manager to retain the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson a decade ago.
