James Patrice revealed he was overwhelmed when he landed his role on Dancing with the Stars

Social media influencer and Dancing with the Stars backstage presenter James Patrice said that he jumped at the chance to take part in Breast Cancer Ireland's Battle of the Stars.

The social media guru said that he was delighted to be asked last year to partake in the annual event as he always wanted to do something like it.

The young presenter said: "I jumped at the chance as I do the backstage presenting for Dancing With the Stars so I'm always like 'I'd love to give it a go' but without any of the pressure."

He added: "It's just a fantastic night and I mean everyone gets dolled up and gets ready.

"My mother, my sister they have the gunas ready, my dad has the tux pressed, it's a whopper night out."

When James first landed his role as the backstage presenter for Dancing with the Stars he said that he was completely overwhelmed.

"When I got the call that I was doing it I was overwhelmed, I was thrilled because it was my dream to be involved in a show like that."

James rose to fame quickly over the past couple of years with the help of his hilarious mother Fron Butler.

He has accumulated over 101k followers on Instagram and he revealed that he thought that it was crazy at first when he would get recognized on the street.

"It was crazy to be recognized at first and it still is, because I was just sharing things on my phone and sharing my life."

He is not the only family member to get recognized as he said that his mother and his sister often get recognized as well since he shot to fame.

"And then you would have people coming up to me, coming up to them [his parents] and coming up to my sister and I suppose that was crazy and a bit overwhelming, but it was great and the thing is everyone is always so nice."

He said that the reason behind the success of many Irish influencers is down to the fact that Irish people are very nosey.

"I think that it's just because Irish people are very nosey.

"I get star struck when I meet people that I follow, it's mad.

"I suppose it's just a new wave of getting to know people."

James will be joined by an array of celebs for the event that will be taking place on Saturday, April 13 this year.
